How Do I Pay for Child Care?

4-C administers several child care assistance programs, in our 18 county service area, to help families pay for child care. Eligibility for these programs is based on income guidelines, family size and county of residence. Some of the programs have a waiting list for services.

4-C currently administers programs in these counties:
Kentucky: Breckinridge, Bullitt, Grayson, Hardin, Henry, Jefferson, Larue, Marion, Meade, Oldham, Nelson, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble, Washington
Indiana: Clark, Floyd, Harrison

Kentucky Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP)

To be eligible, parent(s) must meet one or more of the following guidelines:

Be working at least 20 hours every week and meet income requirements Be attending a college or an accredited secondary school or pursuing a GED and working at least 20 hours every week and meet income requirements Be a teen parent attending high school or pursuing a GED – income requirements do not apply Be a resident of one of the 15 Kentucky counties listed above

Louisville Metro Government Child Care Assistance Program

To be eligible, families must meet income requirements and be employed at least 20 hours per week

Metro United Way Child Care Assistance Program

To be eligible, families must meet income requirements, residence requirements and be employed at least 20 hours per week

Motor Vehicle Registration Child Care Fund (Kentucky)

To be eligible, families must meet income requirements, residence requirements and be employed at least 20 hours per week
